Saturday, February 22 -- C takes a dive

Linda and Claudette were determined to see the local market downtown, and Saturday seemed like the day.  Carolyn was disinclined to spend two consecutive days in the sun, so stayed home.  Indeed, a good thing it seemed; though L & Claudette had a short shopping list, they were unable to find produce or cheese good enough to buy, and found the local souvenir vendors to be much too pushy.  Carolyn thanked them deeply for taking that one for the team!

Having struck out at the market, they changed buses on the way back and stopped at Walmart for the groceries.  That worked reasonably well until...they tried to find a bus back to the hotel.  Several tries later, they folded and asked Walmart to call them a cab.  After a long wait, a "golf cart cab" appeared, though it seemed not to be responding to that particular call.  More than ready, they hopped in to enjoy an open-air trip home; there were other patrons ready to snag the "official" cab once it arrived.

Meanwhile, Carolyn cooked and read and stitched, enjoying the sea breezes and clement temps.  Dinner was a pork roast in Green Almond Sauce, a delightfully easy-yet-interesting melange of tomatillos and blanched almonds.

The sunset, like the day, was tranquil ... zzzzz
